Linda and I just got back from a couple of days roaming around the North Georgia mountains – or what passes for mountains in this part of the country. We visited the Foxfire art show at the Unicoi Lodge near Helen, GA. It was our first time to attend and it is small, but a very nice show. Nice mix of art and craft.

We also visited Lake Burton Gallery and Emporium which is just a few miles to the north and dropped off a few items – fancy pepper mills , magic wands, etc. The gallery owner, Marlene Eck, is a great lady and, like most galleries, could use the business. So, if you are in the Clayton/Helen, Clarksville area and have a few minutes, please stop by. To quote Southern Living, ā€œ”One of the best galleries in the state.”

She has an eclectic mix of unique art and high craft and it is all by local and regional artists. There is nothing imported or mass-produced in her gallery!
